Andrew Obara is the Managing Director and the brain behind the creation of FRIENDS Consult Ltd, who has seen the company and has seen it attain recognition among the “top 100 mid-sized SMEs in Uganda for four consecutive years (2013/14/15/16). He is a highly experienced all round, seasoned consultant with over 25 years practical and senior level experience in the areas of banking/finance, microfinance capacity building, project/fund design and management, macroeconomic studies, feasibility studies, product development, market surveys, institutional assessment/diagnostic reviews, executive course development and training and strategy development,/ strategic planning, banking, loan investments, venture capital, other corporate business development services, SMME technical assistance. Andrew has led a number of diverse teams that have executed assignments in the recent past, that have all been rated excellent by the clients. He also has deep knowledge of and wide experience in the Ugandan Finance, Microfinance, Economic, Agriculture, Banking and Macroeconomic sectors having worked in these sectors for over 25 years. During his working time, Andrew has accomplished both national and international assignments for Governments, NGOs, bilateral and multilateral development partners and Private firms among others. Some of his working assignments have been in countries including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Netherlands, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia and Gambia among others

Richard Otim Ogwang is the Senior Manager at FRIENDS Consult and has over 15 years of progressive experience in consultancy. Deputizing the Managing Director, Richard is in charge of overall coordination and oversight of all projects at FRIENDS Consult. He is a chartered accountant (ACCA) with wide experience in financial management and consulting in pro- poor finance. He's keen attention to detail and custom of looking at the micro issues as well as the strategic “big picture” makes him a seasoned consultant for projects management. He has led a number of successful teams that have performed outstanding work at both the national and regional level. His areas of strength include financial management and accounting, undertaking institutional diagnostics, business valuation, training; leading and managing projects, developing and implementing accounting systems and ensuring adherence to them and analyzing and appraising financial and related information.

Patricia is a Business Manager of FRIENDS Consult Ltd and a development consultant with over 15 years progressive and practical experience in managing and providing consultancy services to rural finance and community microfinance. She has 7 years of experience in providing consulting services for rural finance institutions and 8 years in managing community microfinance operations. Currently heading the business development function of the company, Patricia has good conceptual and analytic skills which feed into her ability to integrate knowledge from different disciplines to produce authoritative and well-argued conclusions in all her work. She has led and participated in a number of social impact assessments involving identifying the impact of project activities on beneficiaries, assessing their satisfaction and measuring if the intended project outcomes are achieved or not as set out in the logical framework of the various projects.

Edward Kiyaga is a Projects Manager of FRIENDS Consult Ltd. He is a Management Scientist/Microfinance specialist with vast knowledge and skills of over 17 years on-job experience in institutional management, programs and operations design. He has gained experience in operations management and his other key areas of strength include implementing impact assessments, quality assurance, social performance management, product design and development, strategic and product marketing and market research for microfinance as well as programming and implementation of HIV/AIDS Responsive Programs.

Martin is a Projects manager of FRIENDS Consult Ltd. He is an agriculturalist with extensive experience in the agricultural sector. He has over 13 years’ hands on experience and track record in social development integrated programs with a component of agriculture. Specifically, he has been involved in agriculture projects designs, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, agricultural research, agricultural value chain analysis, cost benefit analysis and also has specialized skills and competence in tissue culture aspects. Over the years, Martin has gained hands on experience in undertaking extensive research for the agriculture sector and other sectors, monitoring and evaluation of projects, experience in undertaking country wide surveys.
